Classification and procedure

It is possible to replicate equipment from SAP S/4Hana as registered products in SAP Sales & Service. The replication of SAP-S/4HANA equipment allows only a unidirectional replication. This is also useful so that data is not inadvertently overwritten. This also avoids the error source of simultaneous processing in two systems.

SAP-S/4HANA equipments are assigned to the registered product in SAP Sales Cloud. The Equipment-ID field which is maintained in SAP S/4 is replicated in the External number field in the solution. Information replicated from SAP S/4 encompasses details on the customer and the site as well as information on sales, user status, parties and the guarantee data (beginning and end date).

An equipment can be replicated in SAP Sales Cloud without a customer from SAP S/4. SAP Sales Cloud does not allow the use and adaptation of a registered product without customer master.

Prerequisites for replication:

  • Master data is replicated in Sales Cloud
  • The categories for the equipment are present and mapped.

When changes are made to a registered product (that was replicated without a customer from SAP S/4HANA) it is not possible to save the changes of the registered product without a customer master. The extension with sales-specific data that is not needed by the back-end is therefore possible.

Users can change the data of an inactive equipment in S/4. This change is replicated in SAP Sales Cloud with activation. This applies also to changes to a reference material of equipments. This is only true for a replication scenario.

In the standard the following fields can be exchanged between the two systems and updated:

  • Serial number
  • Reference product
  • Category for registered products
  • Description
  • Status
  • Status scheme
  • User status
  • Parties (all role codes)
  • Reference data
  • Address fields
  • Guarantee
  • External guarantee number
  • Sales organization
  • Distribution channel
  • Division
  • Sales office
  • Sales group
  • Notes
  • Customer information

Before you can begin creating equipment, the following customizing steps are required in S/4 Hana:

Figure 1: Customizing equipments
Figure 2: Customizing equipments and Tools Management (EMT)

An equipment is then created using transaction: IE01

Figure 3: Creating Equipment (transaction: IE01)

When all of the customizing settings have been made in S/4HANA and the replication is complete, you can use the registered products in the SAP Sales Cloud.
