Software components for mainframe and database modernization

TmaxSoft features two products – Open Frame and Tibero – that deliver innovative solutions for your mainframe and/or database modernization project.

Open Frame

When complex mainframe systems have grown organically over decades, Open Frame provides a fast, low-cost way to migrate them to standard modern platforms.

Nagarro ES wants its customers to be independent of the prices dictated by incumbent providers. At the same time, it seeks to promote the development of digital structures.

Open Frame significantly reduces the work, costs and risks to which conversion exposes the user. It also limits project runtimes to between 6 and 24 months.

  •  Automated conversion:
A comprehensive set of tools for the automated conversion of data and business logic – originally programmed for mainframes (e.g. in Cobol, PL/1 or Assembler).
  •  Ideally suited to the use of mainframes in the cloud:
Open Frame reduces the cost of operating mainframes by having mainframe applications off-hosted in the cloud or migrating them to Linux/Unix.
  • Integration of non-mainframe-based technology:
Integration with old core applications without the need to rewrite those applications.

Tibero

As an alternative to Oracle, Tibero is a relational database management system that delivers superlative performance at a fraction of the usual licensing and operating cost.

Tibero is a database product for relational databases and database management systems. In Asia, it is already deployed in many industries and has a market share of over 45%.

Its derivative products Tibero Zeta and Zetadata meet all the demands placed on high-performance appliances in the cloud and in on-premise environments, but without tying companies to any specific hardware.

  • Compatibility:
Tibero is 90% compatible with the Oracle DBMS but can cost up to 60% less. As such, Tibero specifically targets Oracle users who are considering moving to another system to optimize their data performance in line with the requirements of digitalization.
  • Transparency:
The independent organization “Campaign for Clear Licensing” (CCL) rates the Tibero licensing model as simple and readily understandable – giving corporate users an even greater incentive to migrate.
  • Short migration lead times:
Allgeier and TmaxSoft put the time it takes to migrate from Oracle to Tibero at an average of six weeks.
  • Reliability:
Database transaction reliability is guaranteed, along with improved synchronization between databases and reliable operation in multi-node environments.
  • More efficient use of resources:
System resources such as CPUs and memory are used more efficiently as fewer server processes are needed. This ensures that Tibero combines performance with stability and scalability.

Powerful arguments for the TmaxSoft Suite

The suite provides the individual flexibility and agility that is needed to migrate even complex installations to new platforms in a very short time.

  • The world’s most modern, secure and economical solution to open up legacy applications.
  • Total running costs can be reduced by something like 50%.
  • In virtually every project to date, investments in legacy modernization have paid for themselves within 24 months.
  • On average, software investments are reduced to one third of existing costs.
  • Compared to an Oracle database, ongoing maintenance and support costs are cut by over 65%.
  • The average time it takes to migrate from Oracle to Tibero is roughly six weeks.
  • Flexibility
    Flexible deployment of solution components.

  • Open solution structure
Immediate access to the cloud – and avoidance of vendor lock-in.

What our TmaxSoft experts have to say

We asked one of our Tmax experts what makes the TmaxSoft Suite so special, and what sets it apart from rival products.

Gido Weselowski Allgeier ES

“Dependency on the products, services and licenses of a particular vendor drives a company’s costs up in a never-ending spiral. Nagarro ES wants its customers to be independent of the prices dictated by incumbent providers and to promote – rather than hinder – the development of digital structures.”
